TECHNICAL COMMITTEE REPORTS

Certification: -- Joe Ledger

  • Glynnette has not heard back from ASPE National about support that can be provided by the Society to Joe Ledger’s prior request (see reference below).  It was recommended that we develop a more specific request and bring this topic up at the upcoming National Convention.  It was also discussed that it would help if Joe could arrange to attend the convention to discuss this issue directly.

o   Ref: From the December 2007 meeting:  Joe updated the board on the status of requesting the ASPE to support Intel’s in-house estimating certification program.  Joe explained that he has begun the certification program with a target of 27-ea individual estimating training modules specific to Intel’s business practices.  Joe would like the ASPE’s help in supporting Intel’s program and will send the board a copy of his presentation on the subject.

Ralph is working on Chapter qualifications and general backup to submit to National for consideration of a Society Award.  He will finalize preparation and submit the information for the general Chapter Award submittal due by June 1st, 2008.

By-Laws: Kathy Meadows

On May 6, 2008 Glynnette emailed a copy of the 2008 Proposed Bylaw Amendments to our chapter members for consideration.  The amendments will be voted on at the National Convention in July.  Glynnette, Larry Fletcher, and Jack O’Neill are planning on attending and will represent the Road Runner Chapter.

Glynnette explained the general procedures that will be followed at the convention with respect to the amendments and how they affect our chapter.  There are eleven proposed amendments and details of each are included in her email as an attachment.  The Board went over each amendment and voted on the position our Chapter should take.  We will discuss these amendments at the June 04, 2008 membership meeting.
