The monthly meeting of the ASPE Board of Directors (BOD) was called to order at Fiesta’s Mexican Restaurant, on June 15, 2011 @ _5:45__ pm.

MEETING BUSINESS
PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES – Glynnette Hale
The March 2011 BoD Meeting Minutes submitted to the board were approved as submitted. Minutes have been posted on the Chapter’s Website by Larry. No meetings were held for April & May 2011.
TREASURER’S REPORT – Glynnette Hale
The 2011 Treasurer’s Report, updated thru May 31, 2011; was submitted to the Board for approval by Glynnette. The report was reviewed by the Board and approved as submitted.
TECHNICAL COMMITTEE REPORTS
Certification: -- Bob McMartin
Sam Garrell and Steven Witt passed their GEK and Discipline Exams and their papers also received a passing grade. National completed the certification paperwork and sent their certificates, pins, etc. for distribution to the candidates. Bob McMartin sent Steven his certification package and Sam picked his up from Bob.
Bob will check on the status of Mick Rich’s plans for completing the pursuit of certification.

Larry has completed two rounds of conducting estimating classes for the Construction Reporter folks and is waiting for another session of classes to be set up (probably after summer ends).

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Glynnette pointed out that there will be discussions at National on finalizing pending by-laws submitted. Of particular interest will be ruling on changes to the definition of Lifetime CPE Certification.
Finance: -- Glynnette Hale / Larry Fletcher / Bob McMartin
Joe Flemming will be planning to attend the upcoming National Convention in Nashville as National 1st VP.
Glynnette offered to represent our Chapter again this year at the National Convention and the Board approved her plans to attend, as well as providing financial support. Glynnette will therefore look into making plans and will let the Board know the details at a later date.
Membership: -- Pat Arrington, E
Glynnette noted that two members didn’t renew their membership and we have one new member sign up.
Programs: -- General Board Members
Glynnette pointed out that she plans to have James Benham as a speaker in September 2011, however, we have no scheduled speakers for other upcoming meetings. Glynnette asked the Board to focus on ideas for future meeting speakers. A couple off the cuff ideas discussed were:
- Bob will check with Dennis Basile on other topics he may present,
- Richard will check into a JBH fabrication shops tour and pointed out that they also have a Clean Room fabrication facility that may be of interest to see. He will target a July tour, as we need to have installation of officers at the August 2011 membership meeting.

Nominations: – Board
Nominations for ASPE Officers will be made at the July 2011 Membership meeting. Initial discussions included having Glynnette, Larry, Richard, and Bob continue in their current positions and was agreed upon for the most part. Steven Witt will not continue as Vice President due to his relocation to Texas. It was recommended that Sam Garrell be contacted to see if he will consider a Director’s position.
