TECHNICAL COMMITTEE REPORTS
Certification: -- Bob McMartin
Sam Garrell and Steven Witt have apparently passed their GEK and Discipline Exams and their papers have also received a passing grade. National will complete the certification paperwork soon and send their certificates, pins, etc. for distribution to the candidates. The Board will make plans for presenting the credentials at a Membership meeting in the near future.
Education: -- Larry Fletcher
1. The Estimating Academy remains on hold. Discussions continued about how to draw more people out to attend and more involvement by the Roadrunner Members to warrant going forward with future seminars.
- It was previously recommended that we develop a presentation of a typical “Bid Day” scenario as a seminar topic to be added to seminar topics discussed in previous BoD meetings. Glynnette updated the board with information from National and their development of a canned presentation on the same subject and the potential support to our chapter they can provide.
2. Larry updated the board on estimating classes that he has developed, for the Construction Reporter folks, and recently completed his first round of classes. Larry received excellent feedback on the courses and plans to conduct additional classes in the near future as well as potentially making a video of the class presentations.
